Township of Long Hill

The sewer bill you will receive this month will be your final sewer bill from Long Hill Township. On December 30, 2019 Long Hill Township entered into an agreement with New Jersey American Water for the sale of our wastewater collection and treatment system.  We are currently working with New Jersey American Water on a transition plan that we expect to complete by the late summer or early fall, at which point, New Jersey American Water will take formal ownership of the system. New Jersey American Water will begin monthly billing in January 2021.

This bill for wastewater service covers service from January 1 through December 31, 2020.  The entire amount is due and payable to Long Hill Township. You will notice the service charge has been waived and the volumetric rate has been reduced this year. This is due to reduced revenue requirements as a result of investments the town will not be making into the system in preparation for the sale to New Jersey American Water.

As previously communicated, New Jersey American Water will adopt the Township’s 2018 volumetric rates and service charges. Additional information will be communicated as the transition comes to a conclusion.  You can anticipate a customer welcome packet from New Jersey American Water with details on how to contact the company for service-related issues or for help in understanding and paying your future bill.
